We directly work with manufacturers based in India who have their own workforce and proper manufacturing units. As we understand after our visits and interactions with the manufacturers, they are paid fairly as per normal wages in the region and willingly in the trade for a considerable time. The demand generated by the export business is further helping the makers to improve their living.
We are working towards sourcing Fair Trade products and also setting up our own units to enforce our ethical guidelines and practice throughout the sourcing chain. Our aim is mainly to help and empower women in rural villages in India by offering them fair wages and treatment. The work generated by Kantha Décor customers will help them earn more than normal wages in the region whilst working from their homes or in our units as per their preference.
